We’re delighted that the 2016 SEIB/British Horse Society National Convention, will be hosted by Nick Turner FBHS and High Performance Manager for Eventing Ireland as one of our esteemed presenters on the day. Nick specialises in Eventing so will provide an interesting and educational start to the convention. Watch this space as we complete the line up to deliver another sell-out event for you to enjoy.
Nick will be taking us through coaching sessions with guinea pig horses and riders of varying levels providing cross-country training at 1m and intermediate.
The day will finish with an "ask the expert" session with the opportunity for questions from the audience
The day is a great opportunity for coaches, riders and judges, and anyone who simply enjoys cross-country to learn from Nick. The day counts as CPD for BHS Registered Instructors.
Nick Turner FBHS (Fellow of the British Horse Society) has a wealth of experience in many equestrian disciplines and specialises in eventing.
In January 2013, Horse Sport Ireland announced the appointment of Nick as the new High Performance Manager for Eventing Ireland with the main objective of qualifying the Irish Eventing Team for Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Nick's other roles include being a founder member of the Coaching Development Team, BE Accredited coach and is a trainer RoR (Retraining of Racehorses).

Ben Hobday, the hugely popular event rider and social media personality who recently beat cancer, will be joining us at the Convention on Monday 7 March 2016 at Hartpury College, Gloucester. Ben will be making an appearance in addition to confirmed speakers Nick Turner FBHS and FEI Official International Judge Stephen Clarke FBHS where he will deliver a motivational and inspirational speech - a brand new additional element to the National Convention agenda. With his abundant charisma, open communication and infectious personality, Ben has amassed a large following across the equestrian world. He will be joining us in this new year to share his stories and experiences as a successful event rider - it's certain to be an entertaining and insightful addition to the Convention.
About Ben ...
After starting as a working pupil for Cheshire based Hannah Bate, he went on to seize the chance to work for acclaimed rider, William Funnell. Gaining valuable experience in the world of show jumping as well as gaining invaluable knowledge from William's wife; top international three day event rider Pippa Funnell MBE. It was there that the first inklings of a special riding skill were acknowledged. Ben's talent began to be encouraged and then refined, to the point where he would win the U21 National Championships and then go on to be selected for the World Class Start Programme, followed with selection for Britain's young rider squad, giving him the chance to compete with the very best in Europe.
About Stephen ...
Stephen Clarke's career has taken him all over the world to all major dressage competitions including World Cup Finals, European Championships, World Equestrian Games and Olympic games including the London 2012 Olympics where he acted as President of the Grand Jury. His most recent achievement is his unanimous election as FEI Dressage Judge General by the 5* Judges present at the annual FEI 5* Judges seminar held in Paris this January.
